A true blog

Maybe this year now that I have time I will try to blog at least once a week to make this an actual blog of what I do on a daily basis for those who maybe interested.

CA3 year

Well again it has been over a year since my last post, which is amazing because it seems like yesterday that I posted in October 2008. Since then I have been made the chief resident, completed my CA2 year and am half way done with CA3 year. CA3 has been exciting thus far. I have learned all the subspecialities of anesthesia and am now focusing on honing skills in areas that interest me. I have learned OB anesthesia in a little more detail. I am now learning regional anesthesia, nerve blocks with ultrasound guidance, in more detail.
Also I am now applying for positions and have narrowed it down to a position in the area that I live and another position in Maine by the water in York where we vacation. Since October of 2008, we went to Ogunquit again in October of 2009. Again we went shopping and again went out to eat. The food wasnt very good but it wasnt as expensive as in 2008. So the pros of the Maine job is the area. The pros of the job in the area we live now is that we have in laws close by, the hours of the position are good, and the pay and the vacation is better. It is a tough decision.
Tomorrow will be some routine cases, knee cases. Will either do a femoral block or an epidural with general anesthesia. I am reading the Love Dare book. It is good thus far. I have to make sure I do the things it says to do. I am learning now to be a better father and husband now that I actually am starting to have the time to do these things.
